Intro to Long Range Shooting Masterclass

This masterclass offers an in-depth exploration into long-range shooting, perfect for those looking to extend their precision over distances. This course covers trajectory, bullet dynamics, atmospheric impacts, and effective use of ballistic software.

Attention Precision Shooting Enthusiasts, Hunters, Professional Snipers, and Competitors

Wanna know a dirty little secret? The range to the target?

Yeah, that’s just a number.

What I’m saying is don’t be intimidated by the range to the target. If you can shoot your rifle accurately at 100, you can probably do the same thing at much farther distances.

Long-range shooting means different things to different people, but it’s still a pretty easy thing to accomplish with a bit of knowledge and a process to follow.

The ability to predict, with intention, where a tiny little bullet is going to be in time and space to within a fraction of an inch, is pretty incredible…

Would you believe me if I told you…

That you didn’t have to spend 4-5 hours learning how to use a Kestrel to shoot long range?

How about if I told you that you could download a free application on your mobile device and have the most accurate ballistic solver known to the industry in your hands, and you’ll come away from this Masterclass knowing how to use it in detail?

Now, knowing that, I can promise you, with certainty, that you will have tremendous success in shooting targets at great distances by just consuming and practicing the information inside this masterclass.

It’s really that simple.

We like to keep things simple.

We’ve been teaching people how to shoot long range for a cumulative total of 30+ years. We know what works. We know what you actually need to know, and we ruthlessly eliminate the fluff and fiction. And there’s a lot of fluff out there… The internet can be a confusing and scary place to try to get reliable information on this subject. Most of it’s just not worth your time.

We’re going to teach you our system of gathering data, proving that data, and then matching it to our rifle’s performance.

We’re not ballisticians, and you don’t have to be one either to be a successful long-range shooter.

The problem is straightforward

Too many (most?) instructors we’ve seen simply regurgitate information without truly understanding it for themselves first.

You know – “This is the way it’s always been done, so this is the way we’re going to teach it.”

Another common theme out there is “you need this or that piece of equipment to be successful in long-range shooting,” and we don’t agree with that either.

We’re here to show you how to find your own truths so you can have a perspective that isn’t cloaked in dogma.

We’re going to show you our exact process.

This is the process we use to get our rifles and ammunition dialed in to match our ballistic computer program. It’s the same process we use when we’re getting a rifle ready for a competition or a hunt. We trust it with our time, energy, and reputations.

Why? Because it just works.

We know through experience that under most conditions and terrain, having a laser-accurate and predictable trajectory is crucial to success when dealing with all but the softest winds.

Correcting for both the vertical and horizontal axis is difficult and quite unnecessary under most conditions.

And by the end of the Intro to Long Range Masterclass, you’ll know this process, too.

Could you figure this stuff out on your own without a guide?

You certainly could. If I’m being transparent, that’s how I learned. But, if we told you how much time and money we invested in learning that way, you probably wouldn’t want to follow that same path.

The advancements in long-range shooting have come leaps and bounds in the last 15 years. Ballisticians are rapidly uncovering phenomena with regards to bullet drag that wouldn’t have been possible without access to modern testing and measurement equipment.

But do you have time to research and deploy all that info in your own shooting? If not, then let the Intro to Long Range Masterclass be that go-between, so you can get just the essential information, without the distraction of the rest.

Structured Learning

We’re confident that once you’re guided through our process a couple of times, you’re going to be off to the races with your rifles. Each of them will have a profile and a hard data card in no time!

In this course, the learning happens upfront, and then you’ll apply your new skills in a simple checklist-like process. You can expect to be able to hit the ground running with minimal back and forth from our content to application.

Key Topics of the Course:

  • DOPE vs. Firing Solution – Understanding data and accuracy.
  • Elements of Trajectory – Bullet flight phases and trajectory diagrams.
  • Angular Units of Measure – Minute of Angle (MOA), Milliradian (MIL), and Bullet Drop Compensator.
  • Rifle Properties – Sight height, barrel twist, muzzle velocity, and scope tracking.
  • Bullet Drag – Ballistic coefficient (BC) and drag curves.
  • Atmospheric Conditions – Temperature, altitude, air pressure, and density altitude.
  • Ballistic Computer Programs – Using Hornady 4DOF and G1/G7 calculators.
  • Trajectory Validation – Measuring rifle properties, wind, atmospheric conditions, and setting zero.
